Abu Dhabi:

Pakistan

captain Misbah-ul Haq on Tuesday expressed hope that there may be a rapid recovery of test matches between his country and India, stalled after the terrorist attacks in Mumbai in 2008.

"Of course I like to play against India," said Misbah. "This is a very important series for players and fans."

"It 's always fun to play in these competitions. The interest rate is high, I hope that happens because of the fans and players is a good opportunity."

The Pakistan Cricket Board Zaka Ashraf is due to meet Narayan Srinivasan, his colleague in India Board of Control for Cricket in India, in Chennai early next month to discuss the possibility of a resumption of relations sooner rather than later .

Both countries are slated to play the International Cricket Council (ICC) Future Tours Programme, but difficult to find a place because of commitments in India.

Misbah, Pakistan is talking about here, before the fifth and final one-day international against Sri Lanka on Wednesday, unassailable 3-1, said the current team of Pakistan was more mature than that lost to India, ODI Cricket World Cup semi-final in March.

"At the team's World Cup, was not so different from this side, perhaps one or two changes," he said. "He also teamwork and commitment to it .

"But this team is more mature than ever, we have won a few rounds, since then, and trust grows more than we earn.

"If these performnances continue and these players stay together, then we can certainly get better. It is more like improved mainly because it has more experience. "

Misbah said that his team is not going to facilitate the final ODI against Sri Lanka.

"We want to win every game we play. Victory Series had its own meaning, but Wednesday's game we will play a final series or the first game," said Misbah.

If Pakistan takes the series 4-1, they will jump to fifth in the ICC one-day rankings, relegating England in the sixth and Misbah said he was one of the objectives.

"Of course, to improve the rankings of team goals. We played the last 18 months, and for this we want to improve your ranking," said Misbah, whose team has won 22 of last 33 matches a day.

Sri Lanka will be without Mahela Jayawardene ACE drummer who returned home after aggravating a knee injury. He was replaced by Chamara Silva. (AFP)
