David Boudia Sets Record As U.S. Moves Closer to Olympic Diving
Diving team came a few steps closer to solidifying its 2008 Beijing Olympic roster, as Laura Wilkinson, Christina Loukas, Troy Dumais and David Boudia earned spots on the team at the team trials in Indianapolis.
David Boudia, a 19-year-old diver not only secured a spot on the team, but also set an American record. Boudia finished with 1642.20 for his overall performance in 18 dives. But he made record books when he scored triple digits on two dives and 550.30 points for the six-dive finals, an American platform record.
The Olympic team won't be officially finalized until bids are announced on July 7, following a selection camp from July 2-6 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
