Hamilton ready to reach new level: McLaren
Abu Dhabi: Lewis Hamilton's victory in Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is a sure sign of its potential champion in 2012, according to McLaren team boss Martin Whitmarsh.
Hamilton has been a roller coaster year in Formula One circuit, and beyond. Last month, he also divided the long-term friend and girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger.
On Sunday, the English took advantage of the early retirement of double world champion Sebastian Vettel to win the penultimate race of the season with a comfortable balance.
For Whitmarsh is a sign of great things to come.
"There is no reason in my mind, it may reach a different level now," said Martin Whitmarsh.
"I think it was a good back to where it was in recent months, and you can do greater things.
"I think that is very happy with this. You can see that in him, and that gives people the opportunity to drive more confidence to attack, and that something extra.
"We are excited now to Brazil and have a different career, it's a good feeling for us all."
Two-time world champion Fernando Alonso of Spain came home for Ferrari, wipe some of the memories of a nightmarish race in 2010, when his title challenge was destroyed by strategic errors.
Jenson Button was third, who, along with Vettel, Alonso and Hamilton, his teammate and the other is the only British driver to win races this season.
Whitmarsh added: "This victory also means that both drivers had three wins crunch this year and I'm sure two of them think they can do this four by the end of the season."
The last race of the season in Brazil on 27 November.
Although the outcome of the race in Abu Dhabi means Hamilton can not redesign the classification button drivers this year - which means it will be beaten by a teammate for the first time since he came into Formula One in 2007 - Whitmarsh believes that there will materially affect Hamilton.
He added: "I think this season has been a challenge for him, he did a great job here and will focus on the positive aspects of this ..
"And, as I say, now say that" when I come to Brazil? I love this track! This is a fantastic circuit, and he wants to win. "
Button will also travel to Sao full of confidence and Paul are trying to beat Alonso in the drivers' championship this year's second place behind the double world champion Vettel.
"I have great memories of Interlagos," said Button. "I am confident that we can be competitive here, and I'm looking forward to it. There is so much to stop the team competition by winning the season puts us in the next year."
